Judges may soon have to run for election in Mexico. Outgoing president Andres Obrador is pushing for judicial reform, which will mandate election of all judges. Currently, Mexico appoints judges based on qualifications and experience. Mexico's Lower House of Congress has approved the judicial overhaul. Senate will vote on the bill this week.
