Goart Cruz Zamora gave the following testimony on UNPACU video:

Goart was visited in his house in Altamira, Santiago de Cuba, by Julio César Limonta Núñez a neighbour in which he had much confidence and who he was about to recruit as a new UNPACU activist and they had a normal firendly conversation in the morning. He came back later that day the 19th of June, 2013, and Goart just wanted to put on his shorts, and when he came out he was attacked by Julio with a machete. Julio then left the house and disappeared in a vehicle. When Goart woke up in hospital after being operated, the first man he saw was agent Fran from the State Security, the man who Goart guessed had manipulated Julio César Limonta Nuñez to attack him.

To Martí Noticias Goart Cruz Zamora says that he is convinced that Julio César was manipulated by the Cuban State Security, as many had testified that they had seen him in conversation with the State Security. After leaving the hospital Goart Cruz formally denounced the attacker to the police, as he was still free and when Marti Noticas 24 hours later called the police station to verify if they had arrested the man, after Goart Cruz's accusation, they informed that they had no such man arrested.

If the aggressor is not arrested, it is obvious that the machete assault was a job carried out for the Cuban State Security.

A similar attack happened only a few days ago with an MCL activist, the machete aggressor in that case was only fined a ridiculous amount and he now roams freely in the streets.

It is extremely worrying that Raúl Castro is stepping up the violence against the peaceful opposition and is now giving orders even to kill.

In the case of Goart Cruz he was saved from being killed only because he raised his arm and the machete hit his shoulder instead of the head.
