Opposition presidential candidate Henrique Capriles late on Monday once again asked the Venezuelan people to stay on the path of peace and tranquility, amidst a number of incidents and protests rejecting the decision of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and the Government not to conduct a vore recount after the presidential vote of April 14.
"We have shown a way to face all the things that have happened during the last few hours and I proposed a road map for the right of all Venezuelans to be respected," said the opposition coalition. He asked his followers to keep calm and confident to deal with the political crisis facing the country.
"We have to be wise and avoid falling into provocations. Regardless of our feelings of anger and frustration, we should not be carried away by emotion; we should be led by reason. The country is full of emotions but this is the moment of reason, so I want to send Venezuela a message of peace, tranquility, commitment. Yesterday (Sunday) we cast our ballot to defeat violence."
