CSW Cuba Appeal 2012

Picture a Christian boy, aged nine, with a strong passion to serve God. Fast forward 28 years and he is a 37-year-old Cuban pastor who is harassed by the authorities at every turn. He has been arrested and imprisoned for his work many times and is under government surveillance.

That young boy is Pastor Mario Felix Lleonart Barroso. He leads the Taguayabón Baptist Church and also offers spiritual support to Christian human rights and democracy activists. The doors of his church are open to all regardless of their political beliefs. This means he regularly crosses a line many pastors are fearful to overstep because of the dangers of government punishment.
